Where You'll Work & The Scope:
Vishay Applied Thin-Film Products in Fremont, CA is currently seeking a full-time Engineering Manager responsible for management of the Engineering operations including R&D, manufacturing support, testing, and customer interations
How You’ll Help Us Build the DNA of Tech:
- Lead, coach, engage, empower and motivate personnel within the group to prioritize and deliver on site goals and objectives
- Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency
- Review, evaluate and implement engineering changes and specification requirements
- Identify deficiencies and institute correction actions (i.e. equipment, training, etc.)
- Develop clear and well-understood documentation, which includes but is not limited to protocols, deviations, drawings, and documentation for the manufacturing process and quality test procedures
- Ensure product and process quality by designing test processes and methods; establishing standards for measuring finished product and process capabilities; drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and procedures
- Collaborate cross functionally to diagnose production issues, optimize equipment, tooling, and layouts to meet manufacturing, company, and customer needs
- Establish clear ownership and execution of tasks within the team and a clear schedule for completion
- Be accountable for assigned project deliverables, including product quality and schedule integrity
Experience You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree or related experience
- 7+ years experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment
- Minimum 5 years experience of management experience
- Experience with MIL-STD-883 is highly desirable
- Vantage experience is very desirable; other software experience (such as Oracle, SAP, ASK) may substitute for Vantage experience.
- Experience in engineering of manufactured products. Preferably thin film, thick film, or pc board industry experience (Semiconductor manufacturing is less desirable, but will be considered)
- Capable of creating and implementing improvements with procedures and personnel
- Proficient in Word and Excel and generating reports off of computer systems
- Lead, develop and implement changes in operations that create efficiency
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people
- Able to prioritize job flows, schedule and manage time efficiently, delivers on action items without prompting and communicates to team in a timely manner
- Strong organizational skills to create clear paths and to stay on top of department deliverables
- Excellent coaching and communication skills
- Prior experience working for ISO 9000 certified company

Works from established marking specifications, existing computer programs and verbal instructions. This position is ideal for the individual that requires minimal supervision and shows initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Clean substrates prior to the metal deposition.
- Running CPA sputter systems for metal deposition.
- Changing the metal targets in CPA sputter machines.
- Changing the cryo vacuum pumps for CPA sputter systems.
- Learn to maintain the CPA sputter systems.
- Maintain material traceability from start to end of each process.
- Report all non-conformances to management.
- Identify production inefficiencies and suggests potential improvements to product or processes.
- Cross-train in other areas of responsibilities within the Metal/Laser group.
- Responsible for adhering to the code of safe practices in the use of machines, equipment, and materials.
- May be required to perform other duties.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent. Technical school/associate degree a plus.
- Minimum of 1–2 years experience in metals and/or semiconductor processing.
- Clean room experiences desired.
- Familiar with vacuum systems and process gases as well as chemical cleaning is desired.
- Proficient in English. Must have good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the area sales manager for the defined territory. This territory has responsibility for the West Coast, portion of California, Oregon and Washington. This candidate will be based in the Bay Area, within California.
- Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, and preparing quotations.
- Supports customers by answering inquiries, communicating delivery dates, and explaining order details.
- Establish new accounts by identifying new opportunities utilizing web leads, trade show leads and cold calls.
- Monitoring the results of sales activities against planned objectives. Reporting the results to senior management and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

- Must be able to travel 50–75% within the region.
- This candidate will reside and be based in the Bay Area of California.
- CRM experience is required.
